rageface: (Don't make me come over there.)
[The journal is slammed open loudly and a fist slams into a table only mere moments after the feed begins. It's obvious that the person making the entry is angry. Very angry. Full of anger that he hasn't felt in months. The kind of anger he should be more than used to, but it feels so foreign to him now. It's an awful feeling.]

Noel... [His voice is full of venom, raw anger, and pain. He takes a quick breath to try and calm himself down. When he begins again, his voice is lower but still full of his emotion.] Noel Vermillion's gone home.

I hope you're happy.

[He's not talking to anyone in particular. No one in Luceti, anyway. With that, he slams the book shut and goes off to vent elsewhere. Replies to the message will be gotten to about half an hour afterward, once he reaches the forest.]

[Action]

[Of all the shitty timing in the world, Noel was finally sent home after three years. And despite Ragna wanting to leave Luceti all this time, he was finally feeling like he might have had someone to care about and a reason to actually stay in Luceti instead of returning to the shit pit they called home. He knew he had things to do back home, but he was finally enjoying his life. Now? Hell no.

He couldn't stay in the house anymore. Not right now. It felt like it was suffocating him with silence and emptiness. He storms out of House 19 and makes a beeline for the forest, Blood-scythe in hand, and fully intends to take his anger out on the trees and possibly wildlife. He'll be doing that for awhile. Ragna won't welcome visitors with open arms, but he'd appreciate company. Kind of.

When he's finally done with that, he returns to the village and ends up finding Noel's dog waiting for him at the house. With Sol in tow, Ragna figures he has somewhere to go right now. He's off to visit Nami.]
rageface: (Poker face.)
[The last couple of weeks have been really eventful for Ragna. He died and his death penalty took away the Azure he was used to, leaving with with a worthless arm and eye. Stuff happened between himself and Noel. And he learned how to bake brownies, give or take. Given that most of this happened while Ragna was trying to hole himself up in hiding or in the house, Ragna decided that he needed to get outside and do something. Something productive. So what does he decide to do?

A night at Good Spirits.

It's kind of productive. Socially productive. Only a little bit, because he's not all that social anyway. But it's a thing he's doing, and it's taking a lot out of him given the fact that he's showing up in public with a worthless arm and eye. It shows weakness, and it's something Ragna doesn't want to broadcast to the world. But he can't hide in the house forever. Noel had been nagging him about it, and he didn't want to hear it from someone else he knows when they realize he hasn't been getting that much air. People can be annoying, gosh.

Anyway, once Ragna settles himself in the bar, he minds his own business and resigns himself to looking kind of mopey by the bar counter with a drink in hand. A light drink, because he's learned that holding his liquor is virtually impossible for him. Or maybe it was that god awful drink Nami brought him -- doesn't matter, he's sticking to the light stuff.

Come bother the guy since he's out and about for the first time, and not trying to be sneaky. But he is trying to look normal, which just makes him look weird. Like side-eying people and accidentally making faces.]

Introspection )

[Today? Ragna needs to go outside. Apparently there was some draft and some other crap that went down while he was dead, and he didn't really care about any of that. Long as no one bothered him in his angsting over what he did, then he was fine with the village being on fire for all he cared. The only things on his agenda was getting around the dame village as quietly as possible, and doing two things.

1) Getting to a few of the stores to grab supplies and, hopefully, getting back out without anyone noticing or questioning him.

2) Scouting out places he could stay if he needed to relocate from his temporary residence after returning from the dead. Plus, he wanted to check out some of the damage done to the village while he was gone.

Ragna took precautions after situations that could put himself in danger, and after Nox attacked Noel last year, he knew it was possible that he could be jumped for whatever he did as the Black Beast. Maybe the village being in disorder would help him keep his cover, or maybe it would make it worse. Either way, he had to do those two things while trying to be sneaky. And not having the use of his right arm and eye made it really difficult to navigate well.

He just hoped that if he ran into anyone while doing those two things, it wasn't someone he attacked.]

Cut for introspective mumbo jumbo. )

[Voice]

Nngh... [As Ragna opens his journal, he finds himself gritting his teeth. There was a weird feeling washing over his body and it felt... odd. But it passes as quickly as it comes, and he lets out a grunt once it does. It's a repeat of what's been happening the past couple of days, and it was getting to him. But there's no time to dwell on that -- he could do that later, when he was outside of the house. Back to the topic at hand.] ... Hey. I don't say this often, but I'm gonna be out warming up with my sword tonight.

Anyone wants to get in a quick spar or something, I'm cool with it. [Just not at the battle dome. He's not setting foot near that thing. Thanks, Shikamaru.]

[Action]

[Looking for Ragna? Tonight he's going to be wandering around the village, periodically clutching at his right shoulder in a hiss of pain as the feeling washes over him multiple times throughout the night.

When he's not doing that, he's near the village's edge at multiple points, just trying to get a feel of what the hell was wrong with him, and how it was gonna affect his swordplay. He can't be caught in a moment of weakness like grabbing his arm. No, he's got to stay sharp. Being caught off-guard isn't something he can afford.

Not in this place. It was becoming another living hell for him, he felt.]

[Today was Ragna's birthday. The third one he's experienced in Luceti, and he's not sure whether or not that should be a milestone. It probably isn't. But that didn't matter, what mattered was that this was his third birthday in Luceti and nothing good has come out of his birthdays here. The first year, he ended up "kidnapping" Noel. Sure, it wasn't the worst thing that could happen, but the pretense behind it was Terumi. And now that bastard was back in Luceti. The second year, there was a huge fight between himself and Noel that they barely made up from. It was pretty bad.

And now for this year? Now Noel was taken by the droids and still wasn't back. It's been awhile, and it's a little unnerving with how her belongings are still at the house. And how much Ragna has screwed up in handling the blow out after she was taken. It's improved a bit, but it still makes for a rather shitty birthday celebration. Not that Ragna was planning on celebrating it at all. But it was still pretty shitty.

So, what is Ragna doing, you might ask? He is walking Noel's dog, Sol, while trying to eat a cone of ice cream. This ice cream is his present to himself. The same type of cone he tried eating last year before it was rudely knocked out of his hands by this damn dog.

And go figure, the huge ass dog decides to yank Ragna forward and he drops that ice cream right on the ground.

... All Ragna can do in response to that is try to get Sol under control before quietly staring at his ice cream. He might look sad over it, but he's actually really irritated. He just can't find it in himself to get mad for some reason. What a crappy birthday.

tl;dr, feel free to find him while he's walking the dog throughout the village or mourning his lost ice cream cone. He's old.]

[Losing an entire weekend's worth of memories is more than enough to get Ragna irritated as all hell. And normally, he would vent this frustration by keeping to himself and walking around in the forest for the whole day until he felt better. Rinse and repeat until the frustration is gone. But today, he's decided he might as well be productive instead. It'll definitely only be a matter of time until that blows up in his face and he'll be pissed about something else instead of the weekend. Genius.

Anyway, Ragna never really got the chance to regularly cook for himself back home, instead relying on food from random food joints to eat. Which means he had quite the menu to choose from, even if he did favor barbeque-type foods over the others. Ever since he showed up in Luceti, he's been cooking for himself (and apparently others), instead of going out to eat. He's not social enough to even bother with it when he can just do it himself. A few years of cooking the same things, and a guy's bound to get sick of it. That's where his journal comes in.]

Dammit, I can't believe I'm asking this. [Siiiigh.] Does anyone have a recipe up for sharing? I'd prefer something that isn't gonna taste like crap.

[Action]

[After he's done with that, Ragna is heading out on a day around the village. He's still trying to be productive, so he won't be spending it out in the middle of nowhere. Instead, he'll be in a couple of different places.

First stop is the library. Ragna hasn't exactly gone here more than a handful of times, so he might look like very lost inside of there. But it'll only take a few minutes for him to just go "screw it" and look for a book. Generally, he wanted to see if the library had any books related to cooking at all, but he's going to get himself easily distracted by fiction.

After that, he's off to the shops. Doing shopping. Amazing, isn't it? When he's done with all that, he's going to be heading back to his home with one hell of a grumpy look on his face. Enjoy.]

rageface: (pic#1704994)
[Ragna doesn't like crowded places very much, so he does well to avoid the hell out of them. The problem is that it's proving difficult today, given that everywhere seems to be the epitome of crowded. Or at least most of the village.

He's so sure that it's so crowded that a concealment ars wouldn't even do him good, because he might end up getting walked over. Maybe he should try heading back home as soon as he can... because this sucks.

The annoyance is not easily hidden by this one.]

What's your opinion on how I play Ragna? I would love to know, and that's the main purpose of this entry. Give me all the concrit you can muster, good or bad, and I'll work on improving based on that. I'd love to hear any and all feedback so I can keep playing him as close to canon as possible.
